Investigation Of Gas Explosion North Pekin

A major investigation is underway to find out what caused gas tanks at Hicksgas in North Pekin to ignite on Thursday.

Three workers were injured by the series of explosions that lasted almost half-an-hour.

On Thursday night, emergency crews removed almost of all the gas from the property by either transporting it or burning it off.

37 year-old Brad Clark of Manito and 29 year-old Jeremy Grove of Canton are both listed in critical condition in the Springfield burn unit.

The other worker injured in the explosion 37 year-old Larry Smith of Marquette Heights was taken to St. Francis Medical Center.
