Semi-truck Kills 16-year-old Bicyclist

September 27, 2005

According to authorities, a semi-trailer killed a 16-year-old boy who was riding his bicycle after he had skipped school this morning.

The cause of death is severe head injury, according to the Delaware County Coroner.

Police have not determined any fault on part of the truck driver, 57-year-old Larry Pennington, of Brownsburg, and believe that he could not have avoided the accident.

Police say Jordan, a freshman at Southside High School, and a 13-year-old Northside Middle School student were skipping school.

Police say the friend was a witness to the accident but left the scene. Police found him later in the day at Jordan's home.
