An elderly man was critically injured when he lost control of his car and crashed into a semi-trailer truck on the Southwest Side, officials said.
At about 6:15 p.m., the driver, whose name and age were not released, lost control of his vehicle and collided with the truck at 4100 S. Cicero Ave., police spokesman John Mirabelli said. The man may have suffered from a medical ailment while driving, which caused him to lose control of his vehicle, according to police. 'He may have suffered a heart attack,' Mirabelli said.
The driver was taken in critical condition to MacNeal Hospital in Berywn, police said, where he remained through the night.
