Interstate 74 has reopened after an overturned tanker truck carrying ethanol closed traffic in both directions for about nine hours today, Thursday, August 4.
Illinois state police Sergeant Bill Emery said that the tanker was carrying eight-thousand pounds of ethanol when it overturned and hazardous materials teams went to the scene.
The truck driver was taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana. His condition was not immediately available.
Emery says a subsequent accident sent two motorcycle riders to the hospital.
