Four bus riders and a motorist were injured when a vehicle rear-ended a CTA bus on Chicago's Far Northwest Side, officials said.
About 3:10 p.m., a No. 85A North Central Avenue bus was traveling northwest on North Caldwell Avenue when it stopped at Loron Avenue and was struck from behind, Chicago Transit Authority spokeswoman Robyn Ziegler said.
The male driver of the vehicle that struck the bus was taken in serious condition to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Fire Department spokesman Will Knight said. Four bus passengers were taken in good condition to Our Lady of the Resurrection Hospital and were under observation, according to police spokesman Eugene Mullins.
