Worker Injured In Crash On City Time Spurs Probe

January 26, 2006

A 50-year-old city worker is under investigation after he wrecked his SUV Thursday morning while on the clock.

The Department of Streets and Sanitation employee suffered injuries in the wreck on the Southeast Side.

At 8:36 a.m., Louis D. Niksich wrecked his Nissan Pathfinder in the 11000 block of South Avenue J in Chicago, police said.

Niksich struck at least one parked car, and the impact caused the sport-utility vehicle to flip over, police said.

Niksich was treated and released from Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He was cited by Chicago Police for negligent driving.
