Woman Fleeing Accident Scene Hits Police Squad Car

February 28, 2006

Monique R. Poole, 36, of Scottsdale, Ariz., was driving north on Harlem Avenue the afternoon of February 6 when she allegedly struck another car near Harlem Avenue and Augusta Boulevard.

Police say that Ms Poole then sped away, swerving numerous times into oncoming traffic and attracting police from Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park.

Ms Poole then reportedly pulled a U-turn and headed back south on Harlem, and allegedly ran into a Forest Park squad car in the 200 block of South Harlem Avenue.

Police say that an empty alcohol bottle was found in her car. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a revoked license.

Both charges were later upgraded to felony status due to previous convictions.

She was also charged with having no proof of insurance and with improper lane usage.
