Mom, Baby Hurt In Crash

November 8, 2005

A 24-year-old Cortland woman and her 5-month-old infant are in critical condition after a two-car collision Sunday afternoon, October 23, on North Annie Glidden Road near Baseline Road.

According to Chief Deputy Kevin Hickey of the sheriff's department, alcohol was not involved. In his opinion, the accident happened due to a combination of speed and wet pavement.

The Elmazi family was transported by helicopter to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where Osman was listed this morning in fair condition and the mother and infant were in critical condition.

Personnel from the Genoa-Kingston, Kirkland, Monroe Center, Sycamore and DeKalb fire departments responded to the scene, as did two Lifeline helicopters, Mr. Hickey said.
