Five Injured In Morning Car Accident

A mother and her three children were injured this morning when the car they were riding in collided with a pickup truck just outside their home on Daisyfield Road, half a block north of Montague Road in Winnebago County.

According to police officials, the mother was backing out of her driveway at about 8 a.m. when she lost control of her car and went into a ditch. She then drove the car out of the ditch and ran into the truck.

The driver of the truck also was injured.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Department said that the victims, whose names were not released, were transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital.

The accident is under investigation.
